Cavino “Ionos” Dry White, Greece    Cavino, is new to Michigan but they have been one of Greece’s leading wine producers for over a decade.  In 2009, they were selected by Wine & Spirits Magazine as the “Best Winery in Greece”.  Ionos white is a blend of Roditis and Moschato, two grapes that give this wine a really interesting citrusy floral fruit note.  This bright crisp white works as an aperitif or lighter fare; salads, shellfish and other seafood.

Peirano Estate “Heritage Collection” Chardonnay, Lodi California   This Chardonnay was softened by having half of it go through Malolactic Fermentation before it was aged in French and American oak barrels.  The vibrant color of this wine immediately catches your attention. The aromas of fresh picked white peaches, ripe melon, and yellow apples are complemented by hints of light vanilla that entices that first sip. The mouth fills with complex flavors of sweet, rich, red and yellow apples, bosch pears, fresh picked peaches and juicy sweet honeydew melons.  Soft hints of butter and vanilla round out the wine to produce a very seductive, lingering finish.

Robertson Cabernet Sauvignon, South Africa       When first opened, the impression that comes through is distinctly South African; A rustic, full-bodied style with rich mulberry, plum and cassis supported by tannin.  This wine is true to style but If you find this wine to be a bit strong on the palate when first opened, run it through an aerator, decant, or put the cap back on and try it again the next day and you will find it much more approachable.  It will stand up to the heartiest of dishes including roast beef, stews, lamb, venison, pasta and steak.

VmV Cuvee des 3 Messes Basses Ventoux, Rhone France    The "Vignerons du Mont Ventoux" winery is a cooperative founded in 1924 by a small group of winegrowers who chose to join forces and pool their means of production. Today, Vignerons du Mont Ventoux represents 120 winegrowers with a total surface area of 1,000 hectares. This blend of 50% Grenache Noir, 30% Syrah, and 20% Carignan is an open bouquet combining fruity and peppery aromas. A well balanced and pleasant wine on the palate with stewed fruits and hints of cinnamon and clove.

Ca’ Momi “Rosso di Ca’ Momi, Napa California   88 Points-Wine Enthusiast and Silver Medal Winner of the 2016 San Francisco International Wine Competition! This freestyle red blend rocks its own style without pretension or snobbishness. Aromas of ripe blueberries, subtle campfire smoke, and that blackberry patch down the road put summer vacation in your glass. Intense plum, blackberry pie, and toasty spice mingle on the palate, with moderate tannins providing structure through the finish. This wine is rich but not soft, bold but not arrogant. Pair with whatever you want, and bring California attitude back to California wine.

Quinta da Boavista “Confidencial” Reserva, Lisboa Portugal      Wine Enthusiast Magazine June 1, 2016 91 points: “Six months in a mix of French and Portuguese oak has given this wine a rich, smooth character. Produced from a field blend of more than 40 different varieties, the wine is stylishly structured and ripe with blackberry fruits. It is still young and although it is drinkable now, it will be better from 2017.”
