Wine Of The Month: Tiziano
On the right you will find a photograph of Tiziano Sparkling Rosato with its darker sibling, Tiziano Pinot Noir.  Dry sparkling rose or Pinot Noir for just $5.99? It is hard to believe but true.  Perfect for large gatherings where you don't want to break the bank or for spraying around your house when the Lions win the Superbowl.  You can't expect a Grand Cru at this price, but it really isn't half bad.  In fact, I will say it is surprisingly good.  This really is Champagne* on a beer budget.  A favorite of underpaid wine merchants.  Even cheaper by the case, just $61.10 for 12 which is just a little over $5 per bottle when you pick up a case or more.

Saint Martin Our Current $99 Wooden Crate Bordeaux
Here is our latest in a series of wooden crate Bordeaux cases and we have received great feedback on our new one from Château Saint-Martin.  Winemaker Jean-Pierre Placidi has been in charge at the Château since 1990, when he took over from his parents. Jean-Pierre is a firm believer in the fine traditions of Bordeaux and the grape balance in this blend (45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc) reflects this. The Saint-Martin vineyards lie on clay-limestone slopes in Massugas, not far from the major hub of Bordeaux.  Available by the bottle for $9.99 or in the fabulous wooden 12 bottle crate for just $99, which works out to just $8.25 per bottle in the case.  Makes a great Christmas gift. Amirite?

Jacks Cork n Cap Wine Fun Facts
Each month I will explore a a wine topic and provide you with information you may not know and will hopefully find interesting.  If you have a question you would like to have me explore in future issues of this feature, feel free to reply to this email. This month we explore Calendars.

Back when our mailing list was much smaller and we still used the postal service to deliver our monthly epistle, we mailed out a humble little Christmas gift to everyone on our mailing list at the time.  A refrigerator magnet calendar.  I was recently peeling one of these (pictured on the right) off of an old refrigerator in our barn and couldn't help but notice that the dates for the calendar are the same as they are for the year 2017.  Hopefully if you were the recipient of one of these fine collector's items and it outlived your refrigerator, it might still be there resting peacefully under the colorful and collectable artwork of a 7 year old or a carry-out menu from your favorite now defunct pizza place.  If you have an old calendar laying around, here is a handy tool to see when it might be able to be put back in use again: http://www.whencanireusethiscalendar.com/?y=2017
